PWDCTC Annual Club Picnic

It's time for our Annual Club Picnic! This year we will be having a Scavenger Hunt, Junior/Apprentice Water Games (on dry land) and a Used Water Equipment donation event! Our Picnic will be held at Ritter Farm Park in Lakeville MN on Sunday June 12th. Like last year's picnic we are asking those who attend to bring your own food (i.e. bag lunch), bring a cooler if you need to keep your lunch cool, a chair for yourself, leash, water and a crate for your dog(s). No Flexi Leads please. PWDCTC will provide desserts, bottled water and soda.

Ritter Farm Park has a large shady grassy area off a lake with the pavilion. There's a trail that also goes along the lake as well. It's very reedy shoreline so no lake access at this site but there is plenty of space to stretch out and enjoy time with our dogs and each other. The pavilion is equipped with 2 grills, 3 sets of outlets and about 5 picnic tables. There's a portable toilet right next to the pavilion. No water or bathroom building.

Club merchandise will be on hand for purchase. If you don't see your size or color, we can order it!

All dogs should be on a leash or long line when working. Dogs not working should be on a leash no longer than 6 feet or kept in a crate. No Flexi Leads please.

Used Water Equipment Donation

This year you are welcome to bring your older or unused water equipment (in working condition). We will have a place setup for this equipment where others can pick up things they may need for a small donation that will go to the PWDCA Foundation.

Scavenger Hunt

For some added fun this year we will work with our dogs and their keen noses to search for some hidden items around the picnic area. The team that finds the hidden items first will win a special Nose Work related prize!

Junior/Apprentice Water Games (on dry land)

This year we will have Junior/Apprentice Water games that we can play to expose your dogs and you to some key items and behaviors that are important when doing water work. For example you can take part in a dummy toss and retrieve, splunky retrieve and recall (all done on long line, which we will have available for those who do not have one). All games will be done on dry land. For everyone who takes part their name will go in a hat for a Water Related Prize!
